سخن سردبیر Editorial مجله دانشگاه علوم پزشکی رفسنجان دوره هفدهم، مرداد 1397، 393-394 مقدمه‌ای بر مقالات تصویری An Introdtion to Pitorial Essay محسن رضائیان[1]،[2] مقالات تصویری یکی از انواع مقالات آموزشی در علوم سلامت است که در آن، نویسندگان سعی می‌کنند با بهره‌گیری از تصاویر فراوانی که استانداردهای لازم آموزشی را داشته باشند، پیرامون یک موضوع خاص، اطلاعات لازم را در اختیار خوانندگان خود قرار دهند. این قبیل مقالات معمولاً در عنوان خود دارای واژگان "مقاله تصویری" (Pictorial essay) بوده و دارای یک خلاصه‌ی بدون ساختار کوتاه (حداکثر 50 کلمه) می‌باشند [1]. پس از یک مقدمه کوتاه که در بر گیرنده ضرورت، اهمیت و هدف مقاله تصویری می‌باشد، تصاویر متعدد (معمولاً بیست تا سی تصویر) در یک چینش و آرایش معقول همراه با زیر عنوان‌های لازم ارائه می‌گردند. این تصاویر با زیرنویس‌های جامعی که دارند، جنبه‌های مختلف موضوع مورد نظر را برای خوانندگان خود ارائه می‌نمایند. مقاله در صورت نیاز همراه با بحث خواهد بود، اما میزان نوشتاری مقاله معمولاً از 2000 کلمه نباید تجاوز نماید. این قبیل مقالات با یک خلاصه و ارائه تعداد محدودی از رفرانس‌ها (هشت تا پانزده مورد) به پایان می‌رسند [1]. مقالات تصویری معمولاً برای نشان دادن تصاویری نظیر تصاویر رادیولوژی، اندوسکوپی و لاپاراسکوپی، الکتروکاردیوگرام، الکتروانسفالوگرام، اکوکاردیوگرام، گراف‌های آزمایشگاهی و مواردی از این دست به کار می‌روند [1]. برای مثال در یکی از این مقالات با عنوان: Pitfalls in CT diagnosis of appendiitis: Pictorial essay نویسندگان سعی کرده‌اند تا با به کارگیری تصاویر بسیار واضح نشان دهند که چگونه ممکن است سی‌تی‌اسکن در مواردی باعث عدم تشخیص آپاندیسیت گردد. نویسندگان مقاله امیدوار هستند که خوانندگان پس از اتمام مطالعه مقاله قادر به تشخیص مواردی باشند که منجر به تشخیص اشتباه آپاندیسیت با استفاده از تصاویر سی‌تی‌اسکن می‌گردد [2]. نظر به اهمیت مقالات تصویری در آموزش علوم پزشکی، مجله دانشگاه علوم پزشکی رفسنجان آمادگی خود را برای چاپ این قبیل مقالات اعلام می‌دارد.
